Peckham Palms Afro Hair and Beauty Hub

Opened January 2019

Dear Clients, and Supporters,

As you are no doubt aware – the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak is developing quickly. To ensure the health and wellbeing of clients, staff and members we have decided as of Wednesday 18th March, The Palms will be running with a skeleton team.

For now, the space is still open at 10 am and closes 5 pm, you may just need to plan a little more in advance for bookings, etc and email the rather than coming down in person.

If anything changes around access to The Palms, we will update you as soon as we possibly can.

If you’re feeling unwell or show signs of symptoms, we ask please do stay at home. If you have travelled to any of the affected countries, outlined by the government (click here), please follow the recommended guidelines.

Rather than calling 111, the NHS are now asking to contact them online.

Protect Afro-textured hair! Amend the UK Equality Act to include hair.

Emma Dabiri, the author of Don’t Touch My Hair, has just launched a petition to include afro-textured hair as a protected characteristic in the 2010 Equality act to essentially put a stop to natural hair discrimination in UK schools and workplaces.
